Frothly’s PCs
A Modern Marketplace for used PCs
Frothly’s PCs is a used tech startup focused on building and selling reliable and affordable computers.
I worked directly with the founder to design a clean, mobile-friendly website that makes buying secondhand PCs feel easy and trustworthy, while helping Frothly’s establish their digital brand and build on their existing clients.
This was a full end-to-end freelance project where I handled everything from early research and wireframes to responsive UI design. I focused on simplifying the shopping experience, helping users browse, compare, and buy with confidence.
Frothly’s is currently in development, with final designs completed in Spring 2025.
My Role - UX Designer
I worked directly with Frothly’s founder as the sole designer on this project. From our first conversations to final mockups, I handled:
Research and analysis into competitors in the e-commerce space and customer needs
Planning the site structure and user flow
Wireframing and prototyping for web and mobile
Creating and maintaining a Design System Library
Preparing the final assets for development
This project gave me a chance to take ownership of the full UX/UI process while designing for a real business with real users.
Problem
Before the site, Frothly’s sold through platforms like Jawa and Facebook Marketplace. This helped them build a starting base for their customers, but it didn’t offer a scalable or trustworthy brand presence. Frothly’s needed a centralized e-commerce site that would:
Establish credibility with new customers
Clearly communicate product condition and specs
Provide a an easy shopping experience across devices
Approach
When designing this platform, I worked with Forthly’s founder to determine what features they’d like on their site. I iterated through the design process until the the final design was one they were happy with. To reach the end state, I :
Worked with the founder to create an Information Architecture to organize the website
Created wire frames focused on clear product info and easy navigation
Designed a clean, visual style with inputs and direction from the client regarding layouts and color.
Built responsive layouts for seamless use across devices
Presented my prototypes to my client to gain any input from them
Deliverables
I delivered the final designs to Frothly’s Pcs after a few iterations. I stuck with a purple and white color scheme to maintain a clean and minimalist look so that the computers can be the the main point of focus for the site. Frothly’s founder also wanted some interactive elements to make their website feel more alive, rather than a static entity. The final design focuses on clarity, trust, and conversion—making it easy for users to browse, compare, and confidently purchase a refurbished computer. Their website is currently in development.
